Taara is an Iranian American writer who grew up in Sacramento, California, before moving to the Bay Area, where she attended college and began her career in technology. A former Editor-in-Chief of the Santa Clara Review, she has orbited the literary world since 2009. She specializes in flash, creative nonfiction, and memoir writing. She is an aspiring essayist. After having paid off more than $250,000 in student loan debt, she no longer works in tech. When she isn't writing, she reads, attends therapy, and volunteers with Democratic Socialists of America. She currently serves as a co-chair for the Palestine Solidarity International Working Group of DSA's Seattle chapter.
She lives in Seattle with her cattle dog and husband.
