About Me

About Taara

Taara is an Iranian American writer who grew up in Sacramento, California, before moving to the Bay Area, where she attended college and began a career in technology. A former Editor-in-Chief of the Santa Clara Review, she has orbited the literary world since 2009. She specializes in flash, creative nonfiction, and memoir writing. Her favorite writers include Lydia Davis, Roberto Bolaño, Sheila Heti, Kerry Howley, Catherine Lacey, Ben Lerner, and Kaveh Akbar. 


When she isn't writing, she reads, attends therapy, and volunteers with Democratic Socialists of America. She lives in Seattle with her cattle dog and husband.
